Word of the day: IDIOT
posted 2 days ago

Etymologically speaking, an idiot is a private individual. The ancient Greeks used the word idiótes (from idios: own, personal, private) to refer to ordinary people who did not hold or aspire to public office particularly because they lacked experience or knowledge. From here this word was first applied to ignorant or uneducated people and then to a foolish person or to someone who is mentally handicapped.

Make a Wish

The old English name for this flower was Lion’s tooth. In the 16th century the French name dent de lion, from which dandelion derives, was adopted.
